Our Mission
Hurriya Arts redefines the arts as a force for communities impacted by systemic injustices, empowering us to reclaim narratives and transform the future through justice, education, and healing.
Through curated exhibitions, research projects, and creative programs, Hurriya connects communities with resources and translates social justice research into accessible arts experiences. We centre healing, education, and long-term cultural change.
Communities harmed by the system, racism and state violence face limited access to arts-based education, therapeutic support, and opportunities to shape cultural narratives. Hurriya uniquely combines the roles of artist, curator, researcher, and community organiser to close the gap with our programming and curatorial work.
Creating structures to heal, upskill, reclaim, and transform the cultural landscape.
Hurriya is for us, by us.

We uniquely integrate the roles of artist, curator, researcher, and community organiser through a multidisciplinary approach.
Artist & Therapy-Led Facilitation: Our inhouse artists and therapists design and deliver programs that are free to communities, combining creative expression with healing and skill-building.
Educational Resource Development: Artists and educators collaborate to create research-informed curricula, workshops, and learning materials that empower communities and promote arts-based education.Curatorial & Research Projects: We curate exhibitions, archives, and public programs that visualise research from academics, grassroots organisations, and community participants, translating complex social justice issues into accessible creative experiences.
